Az önce bir mail daha geldi
Dear Birol,
You should only be receiving this email if you were accepted onto the sixth edition of the Transcontinental Race a few weeks ago in February 2018. If you have any concerns please email
race@transcontinental.cc.
Soon you will be able to confirm your place on TCRNo6 by paying the first deposit of £150. We expect to open this stage to you this week. You will also be required to sign the rider agreement. This is a very important legal agreement between us, the race organisers and you the rider. It is very important you read this thoroughly and sign that you understand and accept the terms before you can race the Transcontinental Race. You can access the agreement (link) to become familiar with it, you will be given the chance to sign up to it when we open the next stage in a few days time.
We will also require you to submit details of your chosen next of kin as an emergency contact during the Transcontinental Race No.6. We ideally need someone who has access to email as will be sending them a copy of the rider agreement that you will have signed to make sure they know that you know what you have signed up for. It is important that you discuss your entry into the race with this person, please do not make this an unpleasant surprise for them.
Important information on CP order.
We have been debating the merits and concerns of mandating the Control Point order this year. In past editions we enjoyed the maverick bids of the odd few riders who chose to risk riding the CPs out of order but our final decision this year is that riders wishing to be entered into GC classification should visit each Control Point in order, Start, CP1, CP2, CP3, CP4, Fin.
Entry Fee
The cost of Transcontinental No.6 is £300 Entry Fee + £100 basic media license (if required). The payment due dates are as follows.
50% Acceptance Deposit £150 - Due March 2018
50% Balance - Balance £150 + £100 basic media license* (if required) - Due May 2018. £50 discount for own tracker applied to this payment.
You may have noticed that the entry fee has increased. This is because (link)(link) the company we use to track your dots, increased their prices this year. Mike’s passing has also meant the way we run the TCR has been necessarily restructured. The TCR is the most closely monitored and adjudicated of all of the ultra distance bike packing events and requires a lot of time, energy and effort from race officials and our team of volunteers. We are disappointed to have had to raise the fee substantially this year and we hope that you trust in our commitment to delivering Mike’s vision of a fair and honest race.
Media License
There will be more detailed information on the media license released in April 2018.
Transfer or Withdrawal of Entries
Your offer of an entry is for this year (2018) only, it is not deferrable until next year and in the case of solo riders is not transferable. In the case of pairs only one of the original applicants may be substituted and the starting pair must contain one of the applicants selected. Deposit and balance are non-refundable.
Look our for another email from us shortly with details of how to proceed to the next stage and confirm your place on TCRNo6.
Thank you and best wishes,
Anna, Juju, Rory and Tom
